I didn't have any classes with Matt. I remember him as a kind and gentle soul who's smile would light up any rainy day. I remember he loved music. A couple times I brought my guitar to school and Susan Snell, Matt and I would sit in the hall at lunch time and sing mostly John Denver tunes because that was Matt's favorite singer.
I remember that Matt, as I called him, was in Mrs. Edwards' speech with me. Matt presented a paper on "APATHY" and he did not have to look at his paper often. He knew very well what he was saying. I had heard the word before but Matt really taught me about the word. He hated apathy.
Tribute #3 by Beverly Moore Hall: Matt Neale was in my English class and we tormented each other mercilously. When we had to write our term paper I, being the Last Minute Lucy that I am, stayed home from school the day it was due to type it. Matt had very seriously worked on his (he did the History of the Bible and I did the Holy Grail). I remember him as being a very nice person.
