Tammy Hinzman Rectenwald

Tammy J. Rectenwald
Tammy Janean Rectenwald, 44, of Charleston passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2003, at St. Francis Hospital after a 20-year battle with Multiple Sclerosis.

Tammy was a bookkeeper for Capitol Light Co. and was a member of Garrison Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, where she was in the choir and the ladies circle.

Her father, Samuel F. Hinzman preceded her in death.

Tammy is survived by her mother, Lillian Taylor Hinzman of Charleston; son, Christopher Rectenwald of Charleston; siblings, Robin Jones of Cross Lanes, Karen Taylor of Charleston, Melissa Young of South Charleston, Sheila Burgess of Charleston and Samuel "Fred" Hinzman II of Nitro.

The funeral service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, at Garrison Avenue Freewill Baptist Church in Charleston with the Rev. Delmar Young and the Rev. Clyde Flowers and the Rev. Allen Young officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston.

There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Bartlett Burdette Cox Funeral Home.

Bartlett-Burdette-Cox Funeral Home, Charleston, is in charge of arrangements.

Tammy will always be in my heart. She was my best friend, offering advice and support no matter what we were planning! I was blessed to be able to visit her in July, 2003. Tammy will never be forgotten!
